Stuart is in charge of the EYD warehouse. He spends his days picking and packing your orders while listening to Radio 4. Stuart has an interesting history and in the past has been an ecologist, an environmentalist and done many other interesting things, including surfing with alligators in Borneo.

He may look human, but we know Stuart is in fact… a green pixie! Inside his green pixie head, Stuart dreams green dreams, thinks green thoughts and does everything possible to turn his green thoughts into reality. This includes reusing cardboard boxes when he sends out our orders.

See a Happy Box in action!

For green pixie lore states that while it is best not to create waste at all, if it really can’t be avoided it’s a very, very good thing to reuse the waste you create!

So Stuart talked to the elves that live across the way in the EYD office and said, "We must tell everyone I'm sending their orders in reused boxes on purpose, or they may think we don't care about them a bit!"

So Happy Box stickers were born. Every box we reuse is now labelled with a smiley sticker to show how happy we are that we've stopped more cardboard from being buried or burnt.

And because we’d like the boxes to stay being used and happy for as long as possible - and because all children like boxes to play with - once you’ve unpacked them, we’d like them to be drawn on, or made into ships or roads or jungles or castles or robots or just about anything else you can think of!
If you like to bring a smile to a green pixie’s face, you can send photos of what you do with the boxes to Stuart at warehouse66@earlyyearsdirect.com
